Karrine "Superhead" Steffans is doing it again....

The New York Times Best Selling Author Karrine "Superhead" Steffans is coming out with her third book called "The Vixen Manual: How to Find, Seduce and Keep the Man You Want" on Monday, July 13, 2009. The listed book price is $25.99, but some places are pre-selling the book online now for approx. $20. I've read both of her previous books, "Confessions of a Video Vixen" & The Vixen Diaries. The first book Confessions... , was rather interesting. Those of us who read it, were just trying to find out who she had slept with. Well that was the reason I read it. The second book Vixen Diaries, it wasn't as juicy as the first; so it didn't keep me engaged in it. However, I did finish it. Now in her upcoming release, she is going to be discussing self improvement, how to get and keep a man, etc. I have read a little bit of the book and I'm thinking that this book will be a good one. Here are some chapter titles of the new book, The New Dating Game, Casual Sex, The Single Mother, How to Handle Rejection, Dating for Love or Money, Single Vs. Singular and there are several others. Here is a piece I've read from the first chapter titled: Single Vs. Singular.

"If you're the type of woman who can't bear the idea of leaving the house without being in the company of a gaggle of girlfriends, you're not a singular individual. Men are attracted to a woman's independence and strength. There's nothing more magnetic to a man than seeing a woman confidently strutting by with a sense of purpose, not checking for who's checking her out, because she's apparently got somewhere to be, something to do-something that matters. It's hard for a potential mate to see who you are when you're list in a cacophony of women, all of you laughing and huddling and talking over each other. This may seem communal and fun, even necessary at certain times, but make no mistake-it is not attractive, especially when your objective is to be viewed as an individual." -Karrine Steffans

It sounds like she has gotten herself somewhat together and heading on the right track. I will definitely be buying the book when it comes out, and will be writing a review. Stay tuned!

Music Monday

Every Monday, I'm going to put my iPod on shuffle and share with you the first 15 songs that come up. I'm going to share with you how the song makes me feel and what it means to me. There also seems to be a song that we can't take off repeat... I'll name that also and tell you why I keep listening to it♥

Alica Keys Pictures, Images and Photos

  1. So High- John Ledgend ~ His vocals in this song are amazing and always gives me the chills.
  2. Make it Work- Ne-yo ~ Love the lyrics, reminds me of my boyfriend. Especially the beginning! LOL
  3. Intuition- Keri Hilson ~ Love the lyrics to this song.
  4. Maybach Music 2- Rick Ross ~ Everyone who knows me, knows I'm in love with this man and his music, however I don't care for this song too much. I like the 1st one a lot.
  5. Tired of You- Foo Fighters ~ The first time I heard this song was on the movie "I Think I Love my Wife." and as soon as I heard it, put it on the ipod ASAP.
  6. Let's Wait Awhile- Janet Jackson ~ This is one of my all time favorite songs from Janet.
  7. If- Destiny's Child ~ The lyrics of this song speak for itself, especially when your feeling unappreciated in your relationship.
  8. Hey Lover- LL Cool J f. Boys II Men ~ I just think this is one of the cutest "crush" songs made. I also love the collaboration.
  9. Grown Man- Lil'Wayne ~ Every time I hear this song, I just know he's talking to me! LOL
  10. I Still Love You- 702 ~ These girls were hot, plus Pharrell produced this track... so you know if he's on it... it's FIRE!
  11. Lesson Learned- Alicia Keys ~ This song helped me get through a really hard time when a certain someone broke my heart.
  12. Can You Handle It- Usher ~ Need I say more.... This whole album "Confessions" was on point. It's very rare that you hear an album now a days and like every single song!
  13. Don't Say No, Say Yes- Avant ~ I think this is like on every one's ipod! LOL ... I mean how can you say no???
  14. Tonight- Xscape ~ The vocals in this song is crazy and this is truly one of their best!
  15. Fu*k You- Lily Allen ~ I first heard this song when I was in Urban Outfitters. I was told that she wrote it with former President George Bush in mind... so why wouldn't I like it???
SONG OF THE WEEK: Last Time- Fabolous f. Trey Songz ~ At first I didn't like the song, but I clearly didn't listen to the words to it. Thanks to my boyfriend who won't listen to anything else when were in the car... I became a fan. Trey's voice... it just does something to me ;-)

That's all for this week! What do you think and what are your top songs in your ipod???

Tiny & Toya

Ok, so I just finished watching a preview of "Tiny & Toya" which aired after the post awards show on BET. The show is set to air on Tuesday, June 30, 2009 @ 10pm EST. As much as I didn't think I would be watching, the show seems like it will be okay. So I will be tuning in for the first episode to see what it's really hittin for. The show is starring Tameka "Tiny" Cottle, the "girlfriend" of rapper T.I. also a former member of the popular singing group Xscape and Antonia "Toya" Johnson-Carter, the ex-wife of rapper Lil' Wayne. The show is supposed to be showing the lives of these women and their everyday struggles with family and life in general. From what I've seen, it seems as if Tiny wants to get back into the singing career, but T.I. wants her to basically just chill. Toya is apparently not over Lil' Wayne and trying to deal with that drama and her crack head mother. We shall see how the show turns out on Tuesday... and I will be back with my thoughts!

My Views on the BET Awards

Now I don't know about anyone else, but I really expected the BET awards to be good this year. I thought it could have been way better even if they only had 3 or 4 days to get the show together. All these people in America that are unemployed right now... they could of hired some more people to do stage set ups or something! DAMN.... I just think that they didn't honor Michael Jackson the way he should have been honored.

Now... I didn't watch the Pre-awards/red carpet show from the beginning, because I actually have no interest in what Rocsi and Terrence have to say. They are the reason that I don't watch 106 & Park anymore. But anyhow, I did however see Arsenio Hall speak and his speech was very nice in remembering MJ. Now....

Jeremih- His first performance was ok.
Pleasure P- I was confused... he sounded like he was out of breath and he really wasn't singing. He kept telling the audience to sing and he wasn't!
Day 26- I'm so sick of them... NEXT.
Diddy- Must you be on the stage all the time? And did you have to have all that damn lip gloss on tho???

Now on to the actual show....

The opening with New Edition and Bobby Brown... it was terrible. The only good thing about it was the clothes that they had on reminded me of the Jackson 5. That's it!

Tyra Banks- Her hair was a mess! Her outfit was cute, but I can't get over that hair!
Jamie Foxx- He gets mad props! He represented for MJ so well... his singing and his clothing was on point! Glad someone was.

Best Athlete award went to Lebron James. Ummm... was it just me or was he being an ass hole??? I'm not in to basketball like that, but I really thought Kobe Bryant was going to win that one. Anyone else???

Ne-yo- I'm proud of him! Yall can say whatever you want about his bald head, but when it comes to singing the man does his thing. However... I thought his girlfriend could have dressed better.
Keri Hilson- She did her thing on stage, her outfit totally represented for MJ. But I think we all agree that she could have left out the last part.
Souljah Boy Tell 'em- Don't really having anything to say... but he's still a cutie!
Beyonce- Love the child to death and I love her song... but I thought we was gonna get to see Ms. Sasha!!!
Keyshia Cole- Love her music, her part of the performance was ok... but i was lovin her outfit. She's so pretty!
Monica- I'm so proud of her, I swore she was gonna be extra like she was in the video. I'm glad she piped down.
BBD- I was so excited when they sang Poison.
Guy- They did a good job.
Keith Sweat- I really think we could have done without him. He cannot sing... never could!
Tameka "Tiny" Cottle- She couldn't wait to get her ass up on that stage to get that award! She always looks a mess to me, but she actually looked better than usual tonight.
Keke Palmer- WOW!!! She ain't play no games with that song. So when can we expect her album to drop?
Jay-z- His performance was on POINT! LOVED IT!
T-Pain- Did he really have to be wearing that chain??? Like come on lets be serious. And now BET is promoting drinking Nuvo i guess???
Don Cornelius- OMG!!! The man should NOT have been up on that stage by himself. He really prolonged the show, saying a whole bunch of nothing!
O'jays- They looked really nice for their age including the newbie and their performance was on point. However, Eddie Levert kept talking bout Don taking all long and he was just as long!

The tribute to the O'jays done by Tyrese, Johnny Gill and Trey Songz was done really well. The tribute to them was better than the tribute to MJ.

Fabolous- Looked very nice as always. He always got on some exclusive shit!
Taraji P. Henson- Girl was on point! Her dress was plain but it wasn't at the same time if that makes any sense. I LOVED IT!
Drake- He should have just sat this one out, we understand that his ACL was torn... the performance was boring.
Janet Jackson- All I have to say is she was VERY brave! My prayers go out to her and her family! I almost cried, it was painful to see her like that.

Now when I thought the show couldn't get any worse... it got somewhat better when Jamie Foxx and Ne-yo did their duet dedicated to MJ.

That's all I have to say about the awards! But there are some artists that I would like to have seen that didn't perform. I think The Dream, Chris Brown, Rihanna, Kanye West and Jazmine Sullivan should have done a performance. What do you guys think??? I really think The Dream would have done a excellent tribute to MJ.

Lil Mama... smh!

So a lot of people are anticipating the BET awards tonight, especially to see how MJ will b honored. I must admit I am one of them. I'm also going to be watching not just for the entertainment but for the fashion. Browsing the web I came across some terrible photos of Lil Mama from yesterday's Pre-BET awards and Debra Lee's dinner. What is she thinking???

Fascinated with All Things Beautiful...

It's not my birthday and this is very random but, I want to design cakes like this one day! If you truly know me, than you know I have a serious addiction to the design of fabulous cakes. I watch Cake Boss every Monday @ 10pm, some think I'm crazy. Anyhow, This is the cake I had for my 22nd Birthday, it's so pretty right? After I finish nursing school and pursue that career for a while, I want to open up my own bakery. I want the cake to taste good as well as look good. I can bake, just can't decorate like that yet. So wish me luck♥ I will keep yall posted and definitely post a picture of the first cake that i design, even if it isn't that major.

This is where I got this cake from:

Bakers of Buffington

Their cakes not only look good, but taste good also;-)

My Very First Blog....

Ok, so I've been unemployed for about 3 weeks now. And I'm losing my freaking mind! It's so hard to find a job right now. This economy is so fucked up! (I know u guys are like "duh bitch") But I never really thought about it until I was sitting on my ass all day twittering and taking a million naps! I have been going out on the weekends, but during the week I just stay in... it's too depressing to be out. I mean, I've been working since I was 12 years old. This is my first time without a job. Even when I was in school for Medical Assistant full-time, I worked two jobs! Working is all I know, and not to mention getting excited about pay day and buying tons of shoes and clothes! Don't get me wrong... my ass is on a budget, but I still do shop. This is my lifestyle, always has been so why should I have to change it? And just to let yall know, I am searching for jobs and applying to schools for nursing. I want to go to school for L.P.N. So even though I'm sitting at home, I'm not just happily collecting unemployment and applying for food stamps! (ha ha ha) Anyone else unemployed???

P.s. Don't judge me... this is my first blog EVER!!! I'm tryna get the hang of this;-)
